Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I know how much all my OT assessments will cost me?

We will quote you our prices prior to the commencement of services. We only provide services once quotes are approved and a Service User Agreement is signed in the case of NDIS clients. For all other clients we have brokerage agreements with your case worker which should be made transparent to you prior to accessing our services. We are dedicated to being transparent with our prices and accommodating different budgets to the best of our abilities.

2. Can your OT’s complete all assessments in one visit?

This depends on the assessments required from OT’s. OT’s often require to do a series of assessments in order to justify a clinical report. For example, if a client requires a new bed under the NDIS, the OT may require to first to a Bed assessment and a bed report followed by an At report. Thus, it may take a few weeks for an OT to complete a set of assessment reports required for each referral.

3. What qualifications do your OT’s have?

All our occupational therapists are required to have a minimum of an Australian recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. We also conduct police checks prior to their commencement with us.

4. I referred my client for a SIL assessment but the OT submitted a Functional Assessment report. Why?

As mentioned, prior, OT’s often have to follow a series of assessment sequences in order to conclusively and comprehensively arrive at the final assessment. As the SIL assessment requires many factors to be considered prior to recommending a roster of care budget, OT’s often have to do a Functional assessment first followed by a Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessment which expands on the findings of the Functional assessment.

5. My OT submitted a home modification report but the NDIS rejected it? Will your OT re-submit the report?

Yes. Our OT’s are more than happy to consult with the NDIA to make modifications to reports and re-submit them. However, it is noteworthy that sometimes a report may be rejected by the NDIS due to the amount of funding recommended by our OT for a particular piece of equipment and may have very little to do with the quality of the submitted report itself.

6. How long are your OT session durations?

Most OT assessments are completed within 1 hour. However complex assessments such as home modifications, assessments for customised assistive technology, ramps and rails nay take longer than an hour along with separate charges for report writing.

7. Do you charge for OT reports? If so, What are your charges?

Yes. The NDIS places great emphasis on the recommendations of an OT’s report. Therefore, OT reports are generally longer, more holistic and comprehensive than reports submitted by other allied health professionals. Due to this we may apply a charge of 1-3 hours for a report depending on the complexity of the report.
