Home Care Package

Adults over the age of 65 may qualify to receive funded supports under the Home Care package scheme if assessed as suitable to receive clinical care in the comfort of their own homes. Most adults who receive these supports live a good quality of life at home and in their communities while receiving funded supports from the Queensland Government. Home Care packages range from complexity Level 1 to Level 4 with increasing monetary funding with increased levels.

Home Care Packages are designed for those with more complex care needs that go beyond what the Commonwealth Home Support Programme can provide.

1. How long does the Home Care Package (HCP) funding last for?

Community dwelling older adults (over age 65) that receive this funding are usually funded for life if they continue to be assessed to be safe to live at home. However, if they require to be re-located to a residential aged care facility, they will usually cease the home care package funding and receive funded supports under the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI). 2. What are your fees for allied health services under the Home Care Package schemes?

As each individual’s needs are different, our brokerage rates vary depending on the complexity, type and location that the service is requested. 3. What services can I get?

Depending on the level of Home Care Package you receive, you can get assistance with a range of different services.

The three main categories of services are:

  • Services to keep you well and independent – including personal care, nursing services, allied health.
  • Services to keep you safe in your home – including cleaning, home maintenance and modifications, assistive technology.
  • Services to keep you connected to your community – including transport, social support services.

Ritco only provides allied health services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietetics and podiatry under the home care package schemes. We are not registered to provide any nursing services but would be happy to redirect you to organisations that can.
