Frequently Asked Questions

1. What qualifications do your Dietitians have?

All our dieticians are accredited in Australia and have completed an accredited University degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from an Australian recognised University.

2. How often do I need diet and nutrition support?

This differs on a client to client basis. Some clients require an initial assessment with a detailed meal plan and 2 monthly follow up checks to ensure the meal plan outcomes and implementation. Others require ongoing follow ups weekly or fortnightly, particularly in they need close monitoring for their PEG feeds or specialised diabetic meal plan.

3. Why is it important to get diet and nutrition support?

What you eat, how and when you eat has long lasting effects on your overall brain, body, mind health and weight. Energy levels are low in clients with inadequate or insufficient nutrition and this often hinders progress with other aspects of rehabilitation such as physical exercises and independent mobility. Furthermore, excess weight can also cause pain, reduction in levels of activity and may lead to depression and other mental health concerns. Having a qualified and caring dietitian monitoring your meals and nutrition can have a significantly positive contribution to your overall health and well-being.
